Penn State Health Lancaster Pediatric Center

Penn State Health Lancaster Pediatric Center

Project Overview

Penn State Health desired to construct a children's outpatient center on the site of the former Toys R' Us store that existed at 1430 Harrisburg Pike and Route 30, at The Crossings at Conestoga Creek. Lancaster County and its surrounding areas will be able to take advantage of this new facility that will improve access to pediatric specialty care for patients and their families.

Project Details

Facility: New Pediatric Center
Size: 47,000 SF Building
Location: Lancaster, PA
Services/Scope Provided: Architectural Design

As part of our project, we gutted and replaced the entire CMU facade of a 47,000-square-foot former Toys-R-Us building, replacing nearly every aspect of that building with a new facade, and then adaptively repurposed the steel skeleton, the foundation, the concrete slab, and a substantial portion of the existing roof to construct the new pediatric center.

IKM Architecture completed the interior of this 47,000-square-foot facility, which features 46 exam rooms and offers more than 20 medical and surgical pediatric specialties and subspecialties, including cardiology, dermatology, neurology, ophthalmology, rheumatology, gastroenterology and urology. The clinic will also provide services by neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons, as well as mental health specialists.
