LANCASTER, Pa.—Greenfield Architects Ltd. announced that it completed the design for a 125,000-square-foot galvanizing and duplex coating facility to be built in Jonestown, Pa., for Voigt & Schweitzer Inc., headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.
The building design promotes efficient, "assembly line" production. A unique design feature is the translucent fiberglass reinforced plastic roof panels, enabling natural light to permeate the facility. When operational, the facility will have the capacity to process more than 7 million pounds of steel per month.
High Construction Company was selected as the design-builder for the project.
Voigt & Schweitzer is a world leader in hot dip galvanizing, a process providing corrosion protection and aesthetics to steel structures.
